"Disobedient Affects" is an exploration of conformity and individuality. Displaying a disciplined array of painted circles on five panels, the installation creates an ordered backdrop. Contrasting this, small monitors embedded in each panel house dynamic, moving circles, introducing an element of defiance. Drawing inspiration from Fritz Heider and Marianne Simmel's "An Experimental Study of Apparent Behaviour" (1944), the installation challenges the rigidity of norms through its striking juxtaposition of static and moving elements. The work ultimately navigates the tension between societal expectations and the innate human impulse for autonomy, inviting viewers to contemplate the complexity of human behaviour.
